Documentation Design

We check the quality of your deliverables, strengthen cost control, and optimise compliance with your deadlines through:

  • Feedback on the implementation of documentation production tools: audit / consultancy / training / processes / specification of rules
  • Our ability to develop equipped solutions meeting your needs and interfacing with your existing solutions (ERP, ES, PLM, etc.)

Audit

We analyse your current production method, which we compare with your actual needs in order to determine whether improvements are required in terms of process, tools or methods. To achieve this, we lead pragmatic interviews with operational staff in order to learn about their daily activity, as well as with the supervisors and management to define the challenges and ambitions.

Consultancy

According to our observations, we ultimately expose improvement and optimisation paths which can lead to the implementation of a comprehensive production line!

These propositions will be based on our knowledge of the state of the art, feedback over several years in different contexts, intelligence and regular benchmarks, as well as a proven methodology to select one or several solutions meeting your need.

These propositions are accompanied with an impact analysis and a return on investment modelling.

For example, we can support you in the conversion of a cumbersome Word documentation, which is not fully homogeneous or broken down into sections, into a structured modular XML document, which will:

  • facilitate its use,
  • electronically publish just the amount necessary according to the users,
  • reduce the risks of non-homogeneity,
  • ensure the configuration management of the elements,
  • reduce the risks of information errors and to security for end operators,
  • control and reduce updating costs
  • know the impacts of information conversion (systems, protocols, rules) on the final documentation, etc.

Training

Based on our experience, a training catalogue has been developed within the LGM Academy. These training programmes cover the basics in everything from documentation to standards, and include the use of standard tools. We also provide more specific training adapted to your needs, as for example an adjustment of training in accordance with the ASD-S1000D standard, applied to your projects to ensure it is more efficient for your staff.

Specification of rules

At LGM Digital, we know the norms and standards in technical documentation (S1000D, S2000M, DITA, ATA2200, MAT10000,….) like the backs of our hands, and thanks to our background in different industrial sectors, we have capitalised on good practices.

When they are used, these standards are most often customised to the company's environment to meet the just needs, and that is where LGM Digital is there to offer support!

In an environment where documentation structuring and modularisation are not necessary, we also help you to specify the authoring rules and graphic charter to make sure that your product has relevant, effective, intelligible and homogeneous documentation.

In concrete terms, this means devising writing guides, rules for publication and BREX (Business Rules Exchanges).

Equipped solutions

  • Off-the-shelf tools, which are adapted to your needs: TEDI for supply documentation (S2000M), EVA for documentation viewing (S1000D all versions), etc.

They have been designed for concrete production requirements, essentially governed by ASD: TEDI to produce the standardised supply documentation used to generate document trees and illustrated catalogues, including EDI messages from ASL, EVA studies to view the documentation in XML and make it interactive, and OVC to check the authoring rules specific to the project.

More accessible and relevant in certain contexts, LGM Digital has developed a Modular Word solution to produce modular documentation with an off-the-shelf tool which is accessible to all.

This also allows the configuration of the data modules created and updated to be monitored.

  • Development of equipped solutions for the customer:

We also support our customers in the specification, production and integration of custom solutions in order to meet a just need and interface with your existing solutions (ERP, MES, PLM, etc.)

For several years now, LGM Digital has been implementing a proven process for the digitalisation of training courses:

  1. Analysis of your existing training system, appropriation of the context and definition of the pedagogical objectives,
  2. Breakdown of all or part of the training system and justification of the recommendations for digitalised teaching methods: e-learning, virtual classrooms, videos, webinars, green screen training, etc.
  3. Production of the syllabus,
  4. Capitalisation of the technical messages transmitted orally by the experts,
  5. Production of the storyboard, sequence of events, script, depending on the teaching method,
  6. Development of the modules,
  7. Validation,
  8. Testing and acceptance,
  9. Implementation.
